A Legal Ready Product

The Disclosure Intelligence Brief July 2026

July 2026 Newsletter Blog

Disclosure remains one of the highest-risk workflows in family law, yet most firms still handle it manually – with thousands of paper documents.

Disclosure Ready makes the discovery process easier through automated foldering, document renaming, and uncovering of missing bank statements.

Every month, we share critical insights into the shifting disclosure landscape—covering new platform updates, evolving compliance demands, and the specific pitfalls that put firms and clients at risk. If an update applies to a case you are currently managing, simply reply to this email. We read every response.

What we released this month

Data Matrix

A new feature within AI Matter Intelligence designed to eliminate tedious, one-by-one document reviews. Instead of analyzing files individually, users can now query multiple documents simultaneously and view the extracted insights side-by-side in a structured table.

Key Capabilities of Data Matrix:

  • Simultaneous Querying: Ask up to 10 questions across an entire document collection or a single file at once—making it easy to analyze witness statements, correspondence, and discovery materials.
  • AI Citations: Click directly through to the exact document and page supporting each answer in the matrix.
  • Flexible Exports: Download your comparative tables to CSV or DOCX for seamless reporting and external sharing.
  • Easy Access: Simply navigate to AI Dashboard > Data Matrix within any active matter to get started.

Customized Document Indexes

Firms can now customize the font family and font size of their document indexes. This update allows for better alignment with your firm’s internal branding and professional formatting standards.

Upcoming product enhancements

Client Portal & Index Visibility

A secure, view-only interface where clients can track their outstanding document checklist and upload files directly. No edit access. No deletion risk.

Redaction Suite and Bates Stamping

Both, without leaving the platform. Manual redactions and AI-powered redactions.

Disclosure Intelligence: What we're watching

The "Shadow Balance" Blind Spot in Peer-to-Peer Apps

Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, and Apple Pay Cash are no longer just used for splitting dinner bills. For many individuals, they have become primary repositories of wealth and secondary operating accounts. The compliance gap isn’t just the final balance sitting in the digital wallet—it’s the off-ledger stream of income from side hustles, digital storefronts, or peer-to-peer transfers that never touches a traditional checking account.

Courts are increasingly punishing “omission by compartmentalization.” Because these fintech platforms do not automatically mail traditional monthly statements, they frequently slip through standard client document collection. However, failing to disclose a digital wallet holding a rolling balance—or acting as a conduit for thousands in undisclosed lifestyle spending—carries the same risks as hiding a traditional savings account.

What this means operationally: Requesting “all bank statements” is no longer a legally sufficient catch-all in your discovery demands or client intakes. If your process doesn’t explicitly mandate the production of peer-to-peer transaction histories, you risk certifying an incomplete financial affidavit based solely on traditional banking institutions.

In practice: How firms are using Disclosure Ready

Ensuring financial records are complete and fully organized before disclosure certification is a critical, high-stakes step in family law. Manually tracing financial anomalies, building accurate case chronologies, and identifying missing document gaps often drains significant time and risks human error. Using automated financial analysis and timeline tools allows practitioners to systematically audit discovery, flag inconsistencies, and build a defensible case structure well ahead of deadlines.

“Disclosure Ready changed how our firm manages the discovery process. Before certification, I can quickly identify missing documents and structure financial information in a way that is organized and defensible. The analysis functionality allows me to run targeted questions against financial records to surface anomalies and gaps I might not have caught through manual review. The chronology feature has also been valuable in matters involving financial transfers and correspondence — it gives me a clear, organized timeline that would otherwise take significant time to build manually. What stood out beyond the software itself was the client support — the check-ins to make sure we were using the platform to its full potential made a real difference in how quickly our firm got up to speed."

Quick tip of the month

Are you utilizing the Case-Level AI Toggle?

Don’t forget that you have granular control over automated data processing. If you are handling a high-profile matter or a case with strict, bespoke confidentiality agreements that restrict AI usage, you can flip the AI toggle off for that specific file. You get total compliance control without losing the platform’s manual indexing capabilities.

One question for you...

We are finalizing the design for our upcoming native Redaction Suite, and we want to ensure it matches your exact workflow. When you redact sensitive information, do you prefer to apply standard black bars, white-out boxes with text overlays (e.g., “Redacted for Privacy”), or do you vary it depending on the local county rules?

Get in touch and tell us. One sentence is enough. We build from what you actually use.
